How to Swim (Part 1)

Learning such an important life skill doesn’t have to be hard.

In fact I’ll tell you how to swim right here:

  1. Kick your legs straight.
  2. Face down.
  3. Arms out of water, diving back in.

That is literally what I teach my clients, that pay me a lot for one on one attention. Why then you might ask do I give it out for free?

Well firstly, not everyone can afford my services, and honestly just because you know it doesn’t mean you get it.

It isn’t until you actively try even just one of those steps, let alone all three, that you realize having a coach right there with you is so valuable.

Additionally, being able to have you learn without me explicitly being there, then allows us to progress far faster in person. Think like if you read a post on a certain swimming skill, then came to a lesson ready to go mentally for it. You’ll be far more receptive to my instruction on HOW to do it, and how to react appropriately when the stimuli of the water or breathing effect you.

Thus the Mr. Dustin Swim Academy was born

Most of my students over the years called me Mr. Dustin, without me ever prompting them to haha. I thought it had a nice ring to it, and so when it came time for me to start my swimming newsletter I ran with it. Making it more relatable to previous clients.

What started out as a crosspost newsletter to substack, and on my homesite, then later just the home website.

I literally tell you all of the stuff that I would in swim lessons, but reading it isn’t all that you have to do. You DO have to go and practice it on your own, and if you’re local or want to try video chats I do offer that all too.

What this all leads up to!

What makes me super excited is that this writing habit of creating swimming posts helps me formulate my ideas into text, and then I can finish my how to swim book that is coming out.

I have taught people of all ages how to swim for nearly a decade, and I have mastered many ways of explaining various topics. While it is catered to more beginner level individuals. The lessons learned can be applied all the way up to highly advanced swimmers, so I really think this book stands out among the rest.

Please go check out the amazing swimming newsletter that I release once a week!

Here is today’s post even!
